Web3 PvP MOBA deckbuilding game, Wildcard, has partnered with Space and Time (SxT), a cutting-edge data warehouse that secures low-level data management tasks while maintaining the industry’s high performance standards.
Wildcard Alliance operates a multiplayer online battle arena that features real-time strategy and collectible card game elements where players compete surrounded by live, interactive fans and spectators. It uses Web3 integration via Ethereum scaling network Polygon.
Space and Time is a tool that makes it easy for games like Wildcard to connect to tamperproof, relational, realtime blockchain data that they have indexed from major chains like Ethereum, Polygon, etc. They make it easier to pull user data and create relational tables from their findings in order to make games more customized to the user. It bridges the gap between Web2 and Web3 data in a more conventional way by providing a familiar interface for queries and interacting with data in a way that is familiar and relatable, rather than strictly scientific.
Wildcard hopes to leverage Space and Time in a number of ways in order to create a more robust blockchain experience for its users. Below are some of the key methods that Wildcard hopes to incorporate Space and Time into their business enterprises.
While discussing the partnership between Wildcard and Space and Time, Wildcard Director of Engineering, Jeff Smith, said “One of the things that initially attracted us to Space and Time was that they have 2-3 seconds of up-to-date data in their indexer, as well as an ability to create relational tables of smart contracts, such as events and data to non-centralized data.”
This means that when building a user identity, Wildcard can go ahead and join all the tables pulled from Space and Time that might represent a player’s core identity within the Wildcard ecosystem.
Wildcard is also excited about the ability to use Space and Time for smart contracts. For example, if Wildcard had a new NFT and wanted the minting probabilities to be based on that user’s metrics in-game of what their preference and play style is, Space and Time could help them customize that within the game to make it even more dynamic for the user.
Wildcard can also use Space and Time within the game itself to show a representation of a Web3 presence because Space and Time pulls from both on and off-chain data, and Wildcard can correlate that data within the game to its users.
One key idea for how they may work together in the future is regarding the concept of Wildcard leagues. In the case of leagues, Wildcard could leverage Space and Time and start correlating in-game metrics to smart-game functionality.
Say Wildcard had an anti-gravity league, for example, Space and Time could allow Wildcard to define custom user metrics based on how much time in air and use it as a way to data drive that information. Because parameters are already exposed, we can mint new leagues mapping these parameters in the smart contract itself.
As you can see, there are already so many options when it comes to how Wildcard can leverage the partnership with Space and Time. Space and Time solves problems for Wildcard operations because it is faster than what can be done alone, and it has the ability to create more meaningful data tables that can be used to enhance user experience within the game.
